Meadows Canine Center
"Learning and Playing for People and Dogs"
Our Philosophy
Meadows Canine Center (MCC) is committed to providing families with the most humane, scientifically proven learning methods which benefit both dogs and owners. Our goal is to provide a community for dogs and their owners where the emphasis is on having fun while learning and playing.
We are not a one-size fits all training facility. At MCC we know that all dogs, just like people, are different. Our flexibility allows dogs and owners to be comfortable in a group learning environment where classes are taught in a manner that supports all learning styles. We know stress gets in the way of effective learning. Our classes are geared to be fun, stimulating and relaxing, a place you and your dog look forward to coming to each week, to be with friends and other dog owners and enjoy your time together.
Our Instructors
At MCC we are committed to providing the community with instructors who are not only certified in a number of areas, but are involved in extensive continuing education allowing them to remain current in developments occurring in the area of learning theory and practice, behavior modifications, current veterinary protocols and more.
Our instructors, each of whom had a minimum of a decade of teaching experience, are committed to ensuring that your experience with us is both fun and enriching, that you have a good understanding of the skills presented, and most of all, that your time with us leads to an even better relationship between you and your dog.
Our Promise To You...
We are committed to helping owners and their dogs achieve success, both in and out of the class. We provide ongoing email and phone support to all our students, even after class is completed, ensuring that even if challenges occur in the future, you will have the guidance and resources necessary to understand and resolve any issues that may arise.
Class Descriptions:
Puppy Kindergarden
For puppies 8 - 16 weeks old
Just like children, puppies learn best when they play. This class combines fun games and exercises that teach puppies appropriate behavior whether interactions are dog/human or dog/dog. We address all the issues surrounding puppy rasing, including nipping, potty accidents, jumping on people, unacceptable play (biting your ankles, eating your shoes, etc.), as well as proper nutrition and vet care required to keep your puppy healthy! The emphasis in this class is on providing an opportunity to help your puppy develop both adequate social skills as well as a good foundation for building behaviors leading to a well-mannered dog. Attention and Focus, Settle, Leave It, Sit, Down, Stay, Walk on a Loose Leash and Come When Called are all behaviors that are introduced in this class.
All sessions are 7 weeks in length - 1 Hour per week - $185.00 per session. 1st night NO dogs.
(All puppies must be in good health and have had at least one round of vaccinations)
Basic Manners
For dogs 5 Months and up
Whether you've just adopted a dog or you're just getting around to training your adolescent or adult dog, this class is for you! This class is geared towards providing your dog with all the information he or she needs to become a well-mannered family member. Through a series of exercises and fun games, both dogs and owners will learn how to happily co-exist. Jumping on people, begging at the table, dashing out through open doors, not coming when called, all of these addressed in this beginner-level class. Even if you have taken a basic class in the past, if you are still finding your dog is presenting you with challenging issues, this is the place to address that. We cover all of the following behaviors in this class; Attention and Focus, Settle, Leave It, Sit, Down, Stay, Walk on a Loose Leash and Come When Called.
All sessions are 7 weeks in length - 1 Hour per week - $185.00 per session. 1st night NO dogs.
